Herro Famry! July 27, 2015
OOOOHHHHMMMYYYYDAAAAAAAAYYYS! That guys seriously jumped over the entire flippin’ boat on his wakeboard!!! Oh, you have absolutely no idea how jealous I am! We are going boating as soon as I get home next year! And CONGRATULATIONS, Jana! Wow, that is so exciting! I’m so happy for you and Aaron getting engaged!
Man, good news makes you happy! I’m honestly feeling really excited for this transfer (six weeks), because we’ve got a great vision for the zone, and we are probably more united than any other zone I’ve been in so far. That’s really important. For this month of August, we have a theme for the zone, which is Breaking Records! We’ve got some great plans! As for Grays, it’s been a long time since they’ve had a baptism here, so we’re going to break THAT record in August!
It sounds like its been a busy week back at the home front, but that’s a good thing! BENSON– I want to hear all about AFY from you, my brudda! Tell me some of your experiences and funny things you did!
I got the Party Pack Pop Rocks and the Country Time, water balloons, etc. for a fun district P-day you sent me! Thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou! I shared with my district– some of them had never heard of Pop rocks before. That was funny!
This week we were a bit disappointed by the two guys we found last Sunday who seemed very promising, have dropped off the radar. But this Sunday we got to church and the bishop introduced us to a guy who had just walked in to the chapel named M–! He’s a nice guy, wants to start coming to church everyday, and remembered meeting Elder Green a while ago, probably before I got here. So that’s awesome! That reminds me, I’m going to have to e-mail that guy today, and Elder Patterson! They’re both home now! That’s weird…
Anyways, other than that, there’s not much else to update you all on this week. We were tracting up on this hill yesterday in your typical English weather. Gray skies, can’t make up it’s mind if it wants to rain or not, about 55 degrees Fahrenheit, even though it’s almost flipping August. And we looked down the hill and saw the perfect picturesque view of Grays and the Thames River! I don’t think the camera does it justice, but hey, we’ll take what we can get, right?
Last funny story, this born-again missionary lady stopped us this morning on our way to the library. We’ve met her before, when she told us she doesn’t “judge anyone or anything, but our church is founded by the devil”. This morning she asked if she could say a saving prayer with us, and we were like, “But we’ve already been baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, it’s ok.” She still wanted to say a prayer with us, so we kinda just went along with it for fun. Why not? She said, and technically it’s true, we invite Jesus into our hearts, but she thinks this is all you have to do to follow Christ. After she finished the prayer, which was more like a repeat-after-me, she smiled and told us that all our sins were forgiven and we were saved! So good news everybody! I don’t have to do anything else anymore, I’m going to heaven now! 😀 But really, she was nice, so hopefully we’ll be able to share the gospel with her in the future!
The sky is a pleasant grayish-white right now, but we all know what color it is behind the clouds!!! 😉
love, Elder Packer
